Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and State of Mexico Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez announced broad investments in education and infrastructure for the State of Mexico. Educational initiatives include support for 2.1 million students through programs like ‘La Escuela es Nuestra’ and various scholarship schemes, alongside the construction of 10 new high schools. Infrastructure efforts include the ‘Plan Oriente’, a 3.8 billion peso project to build 18 vehicular bridges to improve connectivity in several municipalities by 2027.

Specific local investments have targeted Atenco and Texcoco, where over 31 million pesos were allocated to enhance infrastructure, equipment, and furniture for approximately 4,500 students across 16 schools. In Atenco, 23.15 million pesos were directed toward the reconversion of the Centro de Estudios de Bachillerato (CEB) 9/14, while 2.33 million pesos provided laptops and furniture to 14 schools. Governor Gómez Álvarez has further outlined a comprehensive development plan for the second half of her administration focusing on mobility, education, health, and security. Mobility goals include completing Mexicable Line 3 and expanding the Mexibús network with lines 5 through 8. Educational expansions include the construction of four specialized universities in Coatepec Harinas, Tecámac, Lerma, and Temascalapa, alongside nine campuses of the Universidad Nacional Rosario Castellanos.
