Stellantis and UQI Robotics autonomous vehicle partnership

Stellantis Pro One and UQI Robotics announced a partnership to develop ‘Box-on-Wheels’ (BOW), an autonomous, fully electric delivery vehicle intended for last-mile logistics. The collaboration combines UQI Robotics’ expertise in artificial intelligence and autonomous systems with Stellantis Pro One’s ability to scale solutions and develop service ecosystems.

Following the initial announcement, the BOW concept was officially unveiled at the IAA Transportation trade fair in Hannover, Germany. The vehicle is designed as an integrated platform for urban logistics, specifically targeting low-emission zones and restricted access areas. Live demonstrations of the platform were conducted at the event to showcase its ability to perform logistical tasks in real-world conditions.

Detailed descriptions of the BOW concept reveal a design that prioritizes cargo space over driver amenities, lacking a windshield, dashboard, or driver’s seat to function essentially as a ‘mobile, driverless cargo container’. While specific technical data regarding payload, range, or battery capacity remains undisclosed, the project explores an integrated ecosystem of connectivity, electrification, and autonomous logistics for environments such as airports, hospitals, and factories.

Alongside the BOW unveiling, Stellantis Pro One showcased its new Smart Compact Van, a segment C commercial vehicle available through brands including Citroën, Fiat, Opel, and Peugeot, featuring modular interior solutions like ‘Flexiseat’ and ‘Moduwork’.
