Stoke Space Technologies, a US-based aerospace startup, has moved to secure approximately successfully secured $1 billion in a Series E funding round, led by Point72 Ventures and Spark Capital. This brings the company’s total capital raised to accelerate $2.3 billion. The funds are earmarked for expanding production and testing infrastructure, preparing for orbital flight, and developing its next-generation launch vehicle. In conjunction with the development financing, the company unveiled the Nova Block 2, a larger iteration of its Nova rocket. The company fully reusable rocket designed to carry 15 tons to low Earth orbit (LEO). This model is designing expected to make its first flight in 2029, positioning the company as a two-stage launch vehicle intended for competitor to Rocket Lab’s Neutron rocket. To achieve full reusability to reduce payload costs and compete with SpaceX. As part of this financing round, Porsche Automobil Holding SE announced an investment in both the low double-digit million dollar range. booster and the upper stage, Stoke Space is developing a metallic heat shield for the second stage that is actively cooled by liquid hydrogen.
