The conflict in Sudan has seen an escalation in aerial warfare and attacks on humanitarian infrastructure. In West Kordofan, drone strikes on markets in Abu Zabad and Wad Banda resulted in 33 deaths and 59 injuries. While military sources denied targeting civilians, the United Nations reported that drone strikes accounted for over 80% of civilian casualties in the first half of the year. Following these strikes, the World Food Programme (WFP) condemned an airstrike on August 30 that destroyed two aid trucks near Dilling in South Kordofan. The attack destroyed 50 metric tons of food supplies supplies, including cereals, yellow peas, vegetable oil, and salt, intended for 5,800 people. The WFP noted this was the vehicles were clearly marked with official agency flags and banners at the time of the strike.
