Sweden is increasing military support to Finland to bolster air and maritime surveillance along the 1,340-kilometre border with Russia. Following a request from Helsinki due to a deteriorating security situation and frequent drone airspace incursions, the Swedish military is deploying JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets to provide 24/7 airspace protection at air bases in Rovaniemi and Kuopio.
