Sylvester Stallone political distancing from Donald Trump

Overview

Actor Sylvester Stallone has publicly distanced himself from political roles and stances associated with Donald Trump.

In September 2026, Stallone revealed he had declined an appointment as a ‘special ambassador’ to Hollywood. He stated he learned of the appointment through television and had previously informed Trump that the role would be ‘impossible’ to fulfill due to the nature of the studio system, which he compared to ‘feudal states.’

By October 2026, Stallone further clarified his political shift in an interview with El Pais. In addition to reiterating his refusal of the Hollywood advisory role, he expressed opposition to military intervention in Iran and criticized the military-industrial complex, noting that his political views have changed.
