Taekwondo competitions in Brazil

Taekwondo competitions in Brazil have seen significant participation and medal tallies from various regional academies.

In late August, the Taebaek Taekwondo academy from João Monlevade secured approximately 50 medals across two championships in Minas Gerais. During the Barão Open in Barão de Cocais, the team earned 31 medals from 31 athletes, including 16 gold, 14 silver, and one bronze. These competitions utilized electronic vests to simulate official standards for both Kyorugi and Poomsae modalities.

By late September, the 30th Brazil Open Taekwondo Championships took place in Londrina, Paraná, featuring roughly 1,500 athletes from more than 30 countries. The event contributed to world and Olympic rankings. Several teams from Marília, including Fernandes Taekwondo Maraca, C. I. T. T. E., and Sander Sport de Taekwondo, collected 19 medals in total. Additionally, Pato Branco’s Equipe Silva saw 11 athletes earn 14 medals, with their female youth division achieving a 100% success rate by winning four gold medals.
