TAFI Convention 2026 in Rhodes

Overview

The TAFI Convention 2026, organized by the Travel Agents Federation of India, was held in Rhodes, Greece, from October 4 to October 7, 2026. The event aimed to strengthen ties between the Greek tourism industry and the Indian outbound travel market.

While initial interest in the convention exceeded 600 participants, airline connectivity limitations restricted the final number of attendees to more than 400 professionals. Regional Governor George Chatzimarkos noted the event’s potential to build long-term relationships, with a strategy to use Rhodes, Santorini, and Mykonos as hubs for ‘island hopping’ to promote the Cyclades and Dodecanese islands.

To address travel barriers, discussions focused on improving Greece-India aviation links, specifically regarding direct flights by IndiGo and cooperation with Aegean Airlines.
