By mid-September 2026, police warnings highlighted new methods involving LINE video calls, where scammers trick victims into filming payment codes or QR codes. While overall telecommunications fraud losses have decreased compared to the previous year, phishing link incidents surged, with reported cases increasing by 99.6% and financial losses rising by 317.7% year-on-year.
