Taiwan Stock Exchange market reforms
Overview
In early July 2026, the Taiwan Stock Exchange announced it would begin zero‑share trades at 9 am and extend the delay hour for such trades. By early August, the exchange introduced a second wave of reforms: the notice‑and‑disposition period for securities was halved to five business days, and the matching interval for affected stocks was accelerated to roughly every two minutes, replacing the previous five‑ or twenty‑minute cycles. Price‑difference thresholds were also adjusted based on stock price bands. The changes apply immediately to securities already under disposition and will be reviewed every six months. The Taipei Exchange will implement the same three reforms on the same date.
