Taiwan sustainability and exhibition industry developments

Taiwan continues to advance its sustainability and exhibition industry profile through regional leadership and recognition of ESG governance.

Following Taiwan being named ‘Asia’s Best Exhibition Destination’ for the third consecutive year at the 2026 M&C Asia Stella Awards, the country is preparing for major upcoming events such as the Net-Zero Taiwan and Energy Taiwan exhibitions in October. These exhibitions will focus on renewable energy, carbon management, and smart energy applications.

At the 2026 Asia-Pacific and Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (APSAA and TSAA) held in Taipei, Taichung City emerged as a prominent leader, securing 19 awards. These honors included the ‘Excellent City’ award for livable sustainability, recognizing achievements in smart agriculture, smart traffic signaling, and urban greening. Taichung also utilized the 5th Asia-Pacific Sustainability Expo to showcase 11 thematic zones covering energy, tourism, and the circular economy.

Other regional recognitions included Nantou County Government receiving 10 awards for healthcare services, such as AI-driven stroke prevention, and Chung Shan Medical University for precision health management. In the private sector, awards were granted to entities integrating AI, digital transformation, and XR technology to drive regional development and economic revitalization.
