Taiwanese design showcases in Paris
Overview
The TAIWAN CRAFTS & DESIGN showcase returned to Maison&Objet Paris in 2026. Curated by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute under Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, the pavilion featured seven brands: KIMU, Lumamiling, MOTOR design, Pan Pan Hua, TOMO, UMAMI, and WÈI CRAFT.
The exhibition focused on adapting traditional Taiwanese materials and techniques, such as wood, leather, ceramics, and paper mulberry bark fibre, for modern international markets. Specific highlights included Lumamiling’s use of Indigenous barkcloth traditions and Pan Pan Hua’s handcrafted ceramic tiles.
