Tamaulipas mezcal industry promotion

Overview

Efforts to promote the agave and mezcal industry in Tamaulipas have expanded through regional festivals. In mid-October, the state’s Secretary of Rural Development, Fisheries, and Aquaculture participated in the ‘Mundo Mezcal. Festival del Agave, Tierra y Sazón’ in Mexico City to increase visibility for the state’s productive potential and strengthen commercial ties.

Following this, the Tamaulipas Secretariat of Tourism announced that the municipality of San Nicolás will host the state’s first Mezcal Festival on November 7. This upcoming event is intended to celebrate ancestral production traditions, artisanal exhibitors, and regional gastronomy as part of a strategy for community development.
