Overview

Estimated to cost ₹1,200 crore, the 20 lakh square foot facility is planned for a site in the Foreshore Estate area of Mylapore. A Government Order has been issued to proceed with the project, which aims to consolidate government departments and allow the historic Fort St George to be conserved as a heritage structure. The Public Works Department is tasked with submitting a detailed project report within three months.
