TecNM academic and innovation initiatives

Overview

Institutions under the National Technological Institute of Mexico (TecNM) have been conducting various academic, social, and innovation-focused initiatives.

Initial efforts focused on skill-building and social awareness. In Veracruz, the Instituto Tecnológico de Minatitlán hosted workshops for teachers regarding the “Prevention and Attention of Gender Violence against Women” and planned a STEAM-based technology fair. In Coahuila, students participated in workshops for practical skills such as embroidery and sewing to foster personal development.

Subsequent activities shifted toward regional innovation and strategic academic alignment. Students from the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Las Choapas participated in the InnovaTecNM 2026 regional stage, involving robotics and project competitions. Concurrently, the Instituto Tecnológico de Minatitlán attended the “NECTLI” South-Southeast Regional Meeting in Oaxaca to align higher education with regional industrial needs in sectors such as semiconductors, petrochemicals, and information technologies.
