In August 2026, separate incidents involving teenage terror suspects were reported in Denmark and Norway. In Denmark, police arrested three boys aged 15 and 16 suspected of planning an attack on Hadsten School. Authorities stated the suspects coordinated their plot via Discord and Telegram. Justice Minister Nicolai Wammen confirmed the school no longer faces an imminent threat following the arrests. In Norway, a 16-year-old boy from the Vestfold region has been detained since June for allegedly planning an attack on a preschool using knives and axes. The arrest followed information from an anonymous individual abroad regarding concerning social media activity. Investigators recovered a manifesto manifesto, weapons, and weapons extremist materials during a search of his home. The suspect reportedly expressed support for Adolf Hitler, Vidkun Quisling, and Anders Behring Breivik in written statements. A forensic psychiatric evaluation noted the suspect showed “little degree of regret, despair, or shame” regarding his intentions. Prosecutor Lise Dalhaug stated that while specific targets are being investigated, the individual appears to have acted alone. The investigation is expected to conclude by the end of September.
