Telkom Indonesia GoZero% sustainability initiatives
Overview
Telkom Indonesia is implementing its ‘GoZero%’ sustainability program through various environmental initiatives across Indonesia.
In Jakarta, the company and its subsidiary, PT Telkom Landmark Tower, conducted a cleanup operation at the Kali Krukut river to mark World Cleanup Day and River Day. This operation, performed in collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Government and local cleanup teams, removed 5.1 tons of waste, consisting of 4.5 tons of river debris and 0.6 tons of dry waste.
The program has since expanded to Bukit Klangon in Sleman, Yogyakarta. This phase focuses on environmental conservation, waste management, and the establishment of the ‘GoZero% EcoCamp Klangon’. The initiative involves teaching local communities and tourists to sort waste into organic, inorganic, residue, and hazardous categories. To support long-term waste management, Telkom is collaborating with academic institutions such as Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Diponegoro to assist communities in independent waste processing, including the conversion of organic waste into compost.
