Ahead of the fixture, coach Marino Defendi focused on tactical refinements following a two-week break and integrated new signings, including American forward Courtney Strode and Dutch goalkeeper Kelly Steen.

Ternana Women successfully advanced to the second round after a 5-1 victory over Catania.
