Tezspire clinical trial results for EoE
Overview
Clinical trial results from the phase III CROSSING study indicate that tezepelumab (Tezspire), developed by AstraZeneca and Amgen, shows significant improvement for adolescents and adults with symptomatic, uncontrolled eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE).
Data presented at the United European Gastroenterology Week 2026 showed that patients receiving doses of 210 mg or 420 mg achieved histological remission rates of 64.8% and 68.9% respectively at week 24, compared to 3.5% in the placebo group. These efficacy levels were maintained through week 52. The treatment, administered subcutaneously every four weeks, also reduced the frequency and severity of dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing, according to the Dysphagia Symptom Questionnaire.
