Overview
The field for the $20 million The Everest sprint race at Royal Randwick is nearing completion.
On October 5, Mulberry Racing confirmed that Savvy Hallie, a four-year-old mare trained by Brad Widdup, would fill their slot. Her selection followed a second-place finish in the Group 2 Premiere Stakes and a previous victory in the Group 2 Sheraco Stakes.
By October 10, Bjorn Baker-trained sprinter Caballus secured a position for James Harron Bloodstock, joining stablemate Blue Door. With 11 of the 12 runners confirmed, anticipation remains for the final slot holder, Yulong, which is expected to select Angel Capital. Hong Kong-based Ka Ying Rising is currently the betting favourite.
