The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 Early Access launch

Overview

THQ Nordic and developer Ashborne Games announced that the upcoming title Europa 1410 is being renamed to ‘The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410’. This change was made in response to community feedback to better manage player expectations.

Unlike recent entries in the series that focused on life simulation, this remake intends to return to the economic strategy roots of the original 2002 game. The gameplay will emphasize business strategy, dynasty management, and political tactics—such as bribery and blackmail—from a strategic bird’s-eye view.

Following the release of an Early Access roadmap, the game officially launched in Early Access on Steam for PC on September 17, 2026. At launch, players can build commercial dynasties through professions such as Smith, Tailor, Alchemist, Priest, and Innkeeper. The game initially supports English and German, with further localization planned.

The Early Access period is intended to gather player feedback as the developers work toward a full 1.0 release targeted for summer 2027. The development roadmap includes the ‘Stabby Update’, which will introduce Thief, Robber, and Guard professions alongside expanded combat and burglary mechanics, and the ‘Backstabby Update’, which aims to implement multiplayer support for up to 12 players and deepen the city economy. Future updates are also expected to introduce professions dedicated to trade and moneylending.
