The Voice Senior seventh season premiere

Overview

The seventh edition of the musical talent show ‘The Voice Senior’ premiered on Rai1 on October 9, 2026. Hosted by Antonella Clerici, the program features singers over the age of 60.

A significant update to the coaching panel involves Fiorella Mannoia joining the show to replace Loredana Bertè, who is taking a hiatus to focus on concert tours and potential 2027 Sanremo Festival commitments. Mannoia joins returning coaches Arisa, Nek, and the duo Clementino and Rocco Hunt, who share a single team.

The premiere achieved record-breaking viewership success, drawing 3,386,000 viewers with a 24.3% share. This performance represents the highest share for a premiere in the program’s history. During the prime-time slot, ‘The Voice Senior’ outperformed Canale 5’s ‘Grande Fratello Vip’, which recorded 1,722,000 viewers (15.2% share).

The competition format includes ‘Blind Auditions’, where coaches select contestants based on voice, followed by a ‘Knock Out’ round to select finalists. The season also utilizes strategic elements such as the ‘Block’ and ‘Second Chance’ mechanics, ultimately concluding with a live finale decided by public televoting. Following the initial auditions, 24 contestants will be selected to move into the ‘Knock Out’ phase.
