The Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid and the Mauritshuis in The Hague have initiated a simultaneous exchange of 25 masterpieces from their permanent collections. This collaboration, titled “Obras maestras de La Haya en Madrid” in Spain, aims to strengthen cultural links between the two cities.
The exhibition in Madrid features 17th-century Dutch and European paintings from 1615 to 1705, organized into thematic rooms covering still lifes, genre painting, landscapes, and figurative compositions. Notable works include pieces by Jan Brueghel the Elder and Rubens, as well as Johannes Vermeer’s “View of Delft”.
