Pattaya police are investigating several incidents of theft and assault targeting foreign tourists in Thailand. In mid-September, violent robberies were reported involving motorcycle-borne assailants. A British man was threatened with a sharp weapon near Jomtien Beach, resulting in physical injuries, while a Russian national was assaulted and robbed of cash and documents in Soi 9 Thappraya. In a separate incident, On September 10, a 33-year-old South Korean tourist tourist, Yeonho Lim, reported the theft of 25,000 baht from his hotel room after meeting at the Aster Hotel and Residence. Lim stated he had met an unidentified Thai woman at a Walking Street venue. Local authorities venue and invited her to his room; he discovered the cash missing from his bag the following morning.
