Traffic accidents in France

Overview

A series of road accidents occurred across various regions of France in late October 2026.

In Haute-Saône, a 54-year-old driver was seriously injured after losing control of a vehicle on the RN 19 near Pomoy. In Oise, a fatal incident on the D1324 resulted in the death of a 42-year-old woman walking along the roadside; the driver, a British national, was briefly taken into custody.

Subsequent reports from October 24 and 25 detailed further incidents. In Dordogne, a head-on collision on the RD 708 in Mareuil en Périgord, attributed to wet and slippery conditions, left a 19-year-old woman trapped in her vehicle. Additionally, four separate accidents involving vehicles and a cyclist were reported in the Sarthe region, resulting in five injuries.
