Train vandalism in Germany

Overview

German Federal Police have initiated a criminal investigation into a group of 15 youths, aged 15 to 21, following extensive vandalism on a regional express train traveling from Magdeburg to Halle (Saale).

The suspects, who were traveling to attend a football match, caused damage including graffiti, torn window blinds, and destruction of wall and ceiling panels. Upon arrival at Halle (Saale) main station, police identified the group and seized permanent markers and football-related stickers from three individuals. The group was prevented from continuing to Erfurt and was escorted back to Magdeburg, where they received a 24-hour ban from the Magdeburg main station.
