TRF-6 leadership transition and management assessment

Overview

The Federal Regional Court of the 6th Region (TRF-6) is undergoing a transition in leadership and evaluating its administrative performance. Outgoing president Vallisney Oliveira reported that since the court’s creation, it has managed nearly 400,000 processes and appeals, including approximately 200,000 inherited from the TRF-1. Oliveira noted that the institution has judged over 200,000 cases and established a distinct administrative structure for Minas Gerais.

On August 20, the court will inaugurate its new leadership for the 2026-2028 biennium. Federal Judge Ricardo Machado Rabelo has been appointed as the new president, with Miguel Angelo de Alvarenga Lopes serving as vice-president and regional corregidor. Rabelo is recognized for his work coordinating renegotiation agreements related to the Mariana dam disaster involving Samarco, Vale, and BHP.
