Tribute to Václav Hybš in Czech Republic

Overview

Actress Kateřina Brožová criticized Czech Television for its perceived failure to provide a fitting commemoration for the late conductor and bandleader Václav Hybš, who produced hundreds of programs for the station.

In response, Brožová is organizing a tribute concert titled ‘Pocta Václavu Hybšovi’ at the Divadlo Broadway in Prague. Originally planned to celebrate Hybš’s 90th birthday, the event has been transitioned into a memorial following his death. Scheduled for October 16, the concert is being organized by Brožová’s agency, Divinus, in collaboration with Hybš’s wife, Jarmila. The program will feature the Václav Hybš Orchestra and various performers, utilizing musical arrangements by Hybš and archival recordings.
