Troye Sivan release of single ‘Party’
Overview
Australian pop artist Troye Sivan has released ‘Party’, the second single from his upcoming fourth studio album, ‘She’s the Best’. The track features a house beat and incorporates a sample from Madonna’s ‘Music’.
The accompanying music video, directed by Gordon von Steiner, was filmed at Berkeley Castle in England and utilizes a maximalist Victorian or medieval-themed aesthetic to depict a celebration of queer pleasure and desire. The video includes a voiceover by English actor Sir Ian McKellen, marking a reunion for the two following their 2010 collaboration in ‘Waiting for Godot’.
Sivan indicated that the song was partly inspired by ‘bush doof’ experiences from his youth in Melbourne. The album is scheduled for release on October 9 via Interscope.
