True Fitness and True Yoga closure in Singapore

Overview

The fitness chains True Fitness and True Yoga abruptly ceased operations in Singapore due to market competition and cost pressures. The parent company, Hong Kong-listed Kontafarma, has declared the business is winding up.

The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) reported receiving 241 complaints by September 11, with unutilised memberships and services totaling more than S$609,000 in losses. Internal accounts indicated that by the end of 2025, customers had paid approximately S$17 million for services yet to be delivered.

In response, the Singapore Fitness Alliance (SFA) is working with the National Instructors & Coaches Association (NICA) and NTUC’s employment and employability institute (e2i) to facilitate job matching and training for affected employees and freelancers. However, the SFA stated it will not be involved in efforts to recover unpaid salaries or commissions.
