Under the Law on Soil Protection and Land Use, identified lands will be leased seasonally, with rental payments directed to the original landowners. The identification process for the 2026 production year is complete, and the announcement process began on September 1. Following local administrative approvals, Provincial Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry will manage the leasing process based on requests. Rental prices will be set by commissions and must not be lower than the market value, which is determined using at least three comparable local land examples. By October 2026, the regulation was officially published in the Official Gazette. In Çankırı, the program has already seen results: the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry identified 128 parcels totaling 427.47 decares.
