Turkey and Northern Cyprus on-call pharmacy scheduling
Overview
Turkish health authorities and the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association continue to issue on-call pharmacy schedules to ensure continuous access to medicine.
In late August 2026, Gaziantep announced duty pharmacies for the Şahinbey and Şehitkamil districts. Updated schedules were also released for Samsun, Balıkesir, Kahramanmaraş, Yozgat, and Denizli. By early September, Elazığ and Osmaniye released schedules to ensure medication access outside standard hours. Gaziantep and Adana also announced weekend duty lists, with Gaziantep covering districts such as Nizip, Oğuzeli, and İslahiye. In mid-September, Bursa released schedules for districts including Nilüfer, Osmangazi, and İnegöl.
In late September and early October, Yozgat updated lists across 14 districts, while Bursa provided coverage in Nilüfer, Osmangazi, and Yıldırım. Kırıkkale announced duty pharmacies for its city center and surrounding districts like Yahşihan and Keskin. Balıkesir released schedules for 28 pharmacies across various districts, including Altıeylül, Karesi, and Bandırma. Kahramanmaraş also released continuous service lists for districts such as Onikişubat and Elbistan.
By mid-October 2026, the scope of scheduling expanded to include Northern Cyprus. On 15 October, the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association (KTEB) published a duty schedule covering Lefkoşa, Girne, Gazimağusa, Güzelyurt, Lefke, İskele, Yeni Erenköy, and Karpaz. Simultaneously, Gaziantep released overnight duty lists for the Şahinbey and Şehitkamil districts. On 17 October, duty pharmacy lists were released for Denizli, covering central districts and surrounding areas like Acıpayam and Honaz. In Cyprus, duty pharmacies for the day included Dimay Kağcan, Hüseyin Kerim Sakallı, and Adahan in Lefkoşa, and Cengiz Solmaz and Pınar Keklik in Girne.
In late October, Balıkesir announced schedules for 29 pharmacies across districts such as Altıeylül and Bandırma, while Bursa continued providing coverage in Nilüfer and Osmangazi. Gaziantep and Yozgat also released updated duty guides for late October to maintain essential health product access.
