Turkey provincial inspections and fines

In mid‑July 2026 the Eskişehir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry released its weekly food‑safety inspection report, documenting checks of 253 food and feed establishments and imposing administrative penalties on three firms totalling 449,218 TL. The report also highlighted broader agricultural activities such as tea harvesting in the Black Sea region, garlic production in Kastamonu and potato farming in Afyonkarahisar.

A fortnight later, the Eskişehir Provincial Directorate of Trade published its own inspection results, this time covering 11,782 products across 261 firms and levying much larger fines of 1,380,517 TL for pricing and consumer‑rights violations. The trade directorate also reported a separate inspection in Tunceli, where 405 items were examined and six previously warned firms received sanctions for unfair price increases. Both directorates emphasized that inspections will continue throughout the summer to protect consumers and invited complaints via official hotlines and online portals.

Together, the snapshots show Turkish provincial authorities expanding enforcement from food safety to broader market and consumer‑protection oversight, increasing the scale of inspections and the monetary penalties imposed within a short period.
