Turkey expands student transport tenders

Overview

Following the July 2026 issuance of open tenders for vehicle rentals to transport primary‑school pupils in Ilgın (Konya) and İpsala (Edirne), the Ministry of National Education has broadened the programme. Further expanding the effort, three provincial education directorates released open tenders for vehicle‑rental services: Kahramankazan (Ankara Province) – 18 vehicles for a September‑June period; Incirliova (Aydın Province) – 17 vehicles serving 98 students; and Seydişehir (Konya Province) – 31 vehicles for designated primary schools. Each tender follows Public Procurement Law No. 4734, article 19, and requires standard qualification documents and guarantees.

On 26 July 2026 additional notices were published by directorates in Ardahan (Damal district), Ankara (Kahramankazan district), Eskişehir (Mihalıççık district), Trabzon (Tonya district), Konya (Seydişehir district) and Aydın (İncirliova district). These specify vehicle fleets ranging from 5 to 34 units and serve 73 to 326 primary, secondary and special‑education students over the same 14 September 2026 – 25 June 2027 period. The same procurement framework also included a separate open tender by the Ankara Metro Operations Directorate and the Ankara Electricity, Gas and Bus Enterprise for lighting equipment for metro facilities, indicating a broader use of the public‑procurement procedure beyond student transport.
