Turkey continues to expand its transport and logistics infrastructure, with recent developments focusing on maritime cargo, high-speed rail, and urban transit systems. In the maritime sector, 2025 data shows Turkish ports handled approximately 553.3 million tonnes of cargo and 14 million TEU. TÜRKLİM President Hamdi Erçelik noted that while outbound volumes fell by about 7%, inbound, transit, and cabotage cargo rose by 1.8%, 3.9%, and over 16% respectively. Rail projects remain a central priority. The Yerköy-Kayseri High-Speed Train project aims to connect Ankara and Kayseri by 2028. In the Batman-Diyarbakır region, the TCDD Raybüs train set has resumed service following modernization. In Ankara, the Dikimevi-Natoyolu Rail System Extension Project is progressing, with a 7.46-kilometer line currently undergoing tunnel excavation and station ~~construction; a Tunnel Boring Machine is expected to be operational by the end of 2026. Highway automation is advancing through the Free Passage System (SGS). Following its activation at~~ Horasan and leasing 86 commercial license plates for student and personnel transport.
