Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı has linked the achievement of lasting peace to agricultural self-sufficiency. The initiative aims to revitalize abandoned villages and diversify production through livestock, beekeeping, sericulture, and fruit farming. Planned investments include irrigation improvements, ponds, Organized Agricultural Zones, and cold storage facilities. To assist producers, the Ministry has updated support amounts, providing an additional 30 billion lira. The plan seeks to retain rural populations and curb youth migration to cities, utilizing technical studies and regional workshops conducted in Diyarbakır and Erzurum to finalize budgets and investment schedules.
