The BIST 100 index concluded the week of September 11, 2026, with a 3.25 percent increase, closing at 14,467.25 points. During this period, the index fluctuated between 14,000.94 and 14,673.07. Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia have further heightened concerns over oil supply, pushing Brent crude prices above $107 per barrel. Additionally, a planned meeting in Oman between Iran and Arab nations regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz was postponed. Market participants also remained focused on global concerns regarding artificial intelligence development and upcoming monetary policy decisions from the US Federal Reserve. In the United States, the 10-year Treasury yield reached 5.03%, its highest level since July 2007, as investors anticipate a potential interest rate hike to combat inflation. European markets have also seen volatility, with the Italian-German bond spread approaching 90 basis points due to energy cost concerns and rising debt financing needs.
