In Bartın, a court sentenced Furkan Turan Gülle to 4 years, 5 months, and 10 days for the negligent homicide of Edanur Tatlıoğlu, a 23-year-old nursing student. The incident occurred in October 2025 when Gülle struck the victim on a sidewalk while driving under the influence of alcohol. The court also ordered the confiscation of Gülle’s driver’s license for 18 months.
In Gebze, İsa Can received a sentence of 5 years, 10 months, and 22 days for the death of 6-year-old Ela Tabakoğlu. The accident involved a student shuttle driven by Can in February. Following the verdict, the Gebze 12th Criminal Court lifted house arrest measures previously applied to the defendant. The victim’s father expressed frustration, noting the family had sought maximum penalties and argued the defendant remains a danger as he retains his license.
