Turkish municipal consultation meetings

Overview

Municipal leaders in Turkey have been conducting consultation meetings with neighborhood mukhtars to identify local needs and plan services.

In Kayseri, Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç met with Yahyalı district mukhtars at the Yahyalı Women and Youth Center to listen to neighborhood demands. The meeting included AK Party Kayseri Deputy Bayar Özsoy and Yahyalı Mayor Esat Öztürk.

In Kahramanmaraş, Mayor Fırat Görgel led a similar session with Elbistan district mukhtars. Discussions focused on infrastructure, transportation, social amenities, and green spaces. Officials noted that these mechanisms are being utilized across all 11 districts of Kahramanmaraş to address specific neighborhood deficiencies.

Expanding on these regional outreach efforts, AK Party officials and Metropolitan Mayor Fırat Görgel held further meetings with citizens and mukhtars in Binevler and Elbistan to discuss service delivery and local infrastructure needs. Local leaders in Kahramanmaraş have continued these efforts, holding subsequent meetings with neighborhood mukhtars in Elbistan specifically to address infrastructure and service requirements.
