Turkish students qualify for Regeneron ISEF

Overview

Turkish students have qualified for the 2027 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).

In Erzurum, students from the Remzi Sakaoğlu Science and Art Center qualified after developing a specialized hydrogel and bandage using spider venom to treat pressure sores. This project was conducted with guidance from STEM teacher Mustafa Akay and academic support from Atatürk University.

Separately, a team from Tekirdağ Belediyesi Mehmet Serez Sosyal Bilimler Lisesi earned the right to represent Turkey in Los Angeles. Their project, titled ‘ALTIME-PRO’ (Algorithmic Time Management Program), focuses on improving time management skills in high school students. The team secured top placements in TÜBİTAK regional and national competitions before qualifying for the international event scheduled for May 2027.
