Turkish entertainment: production and industry updates

The Turkish entertainment sector continues to see developments in film, television, and theater. Actress İnci Türkay is scheduled to perform the award winning solo play “Liste” (The List) during a multi city tour starting November 4, visiting İzmir, Balıkesir, Kocaeli, and İstanbul.

In film, the independent production “Tüm Yorgun Atlar,” directed by Burak Çevik and produced by İpek Erden, will star Beren Saat and Ekin Koç. The psychological drama explores themes of death and free will.

Television updates include the filming of the series “Susuz Yaz” in Adana by Ay Yapım, which is slated to air on Kanal D. Directed by Yusuf Pirhasan and Mehmet Can Bindal, the series follows a conflict over water and land rights in 1970s Turkey and features an ensemble cast including Şebnem Bozoklu and İrem Sak.

Regarding broadcast schedules, the October 29 Republic Day holiday has caused several shifts. The Star TV series “Sevdiğim Sensin” has postponed its 23rd episode to November 5, 2026, with a repeat episode scheduled for October 29. Similarly, the series “Kızılcık Şerbeti” is airing a repeat episode, with new installments expected on November 6, 2026. Other scheduled broadcasts include “Taşacak Bu Deniz” on TRT 1 at 20:00 on October 30, 2026, and the release of the first trailer for “Handan” by Berton Medya.

In recent industry developments, actress Bennu Yıldırımlar has raised concerns regarding actor compensation. During a program hosted by Nihat Sırdar, Yıldırımlar stated that cast members of the series “Yaprak Dökümü” have not received royalties from the show’s international sales or repeated broadcasts, despite sales to Balkan and Arab markets.
