TV Globo telenovela programming and casting

Overview

TV Globo’s telenovela programming continues to evolve through narrative shifts and strategic scheduling. In ‘Quem Ama Cuida’, the network has responded to viewer feedback by expanding the role of Isabela Garcia’s character, Elisa, through new romantic subplots and family conflicts. This follows previous plot developments involving Heitor Brandão’s investigation into Arthur’s death and complex romantic triangles.

Regarding upcoming programming, the network has confirmed that the 2022 remake of ‘Pantanal’, written by Bruno Luperi, will succeed ‘Avenida Brasil’ in the ‘Vale a Pena Ver de Novo’ afternoon rerun slot to maintain viewership.

Major prime-time updates include the January 2027 premiere of ‘Avenida Brasil 2’, which will feature returning stars Adriana Esteves, Murilo Benício, and Débora Falabella, alongside a cast of new actors and digital influencers. The 11 p.m. slot is set to be revived in 2027 with ‘Romance em SP’, starring Marina Ruy Barbosa as an app driver.

Other scheduled productions include ‘Lá na Minha Terra’ in the 6 p.m. slot, starring Dira Paes, and ‘Tempos de Glória’, which features Maisa Silva as a female footballer in the 1940s. Additionally, the reality show ‘BBB 27’ is scheduled to debut on January 11, 2027, featuring updated game dynamics and a revamped ‘Sincerão’ segment.
