UABC academic and professional training initiatives

The Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) is advancing its academic and professional training initiatives. The university has focused on strengthening professional training models through the Institutional Forum for Credit-Value Linkage Projects (PVVC), which aims to integrate academic learning with real-world environments through collaboration with public, private, and social sectors.

Building on these efforts to modernize education, UABC has expanded its digital offerings by launching new online degree programs. For the 2026-8 period, the university welcomed 196 new online students, including an inaugural class of 94 students for a Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, as well as new programs in Software Development and Organizational Management and Innovation. Rector Luis Enrique Palafox Maestre noted that these online options are intended to increase access to higher education by allowing students to balance studies with professional and personal responsibilities.

Additionally, UABC is expanding its community engagement through events such as the First Urban Mobility and Inclusion Fair in Ensenada, scheduled for September 21 and 22, 2026. This fair will address urban challenges including transport saturation, public transit, and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.
