UAE-India travel security and health protocols
Overview
Travel requirements and security protocols for passengers flying between the United Arab Emirates and India have undergone several changes. In mid-July, travelers departing the UAE for India were required to complete a mandatory digital health declaration, known as ‘Air Suvidha 2.0’, following a WHO declaration regarding an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
By mid-August, the focus shifted to heightened security measures at major Indian airports, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram. These increased security checks and traffic restrictions were implemented in connection with India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations. While flights remain operational, airlines have advised passengers to allow for additional processing time during check-in and screening.
