Ubatuba municipal sports development

Overview

The municipality of Ubatuba is pursuing various sports development initiatives. In late September 2026, the city formally submitted a letter of intent to host the 2027 Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup, an effort aimed at expanding the local sports calendar through integrated municipal planning.

In October 2026, the city’s athletic engagement continued with the dispatch of a 20-athlete delegation to the 88th Jogos Abertos do Interior ‘Horácio Baby Barioni’ in Votuporanga. The delegation included competitors in swimming, chess, and rhythmic gymnastics. Saulo Souza, the Secretary of Sports and Leisure, stated that the participation was the result of “significant training and dedication,” intended to provide a high-level competitive experience.

During this period, Ubatuba’s gymnastics talent also saw success at the Copa Yashi in Guarulhos, where the CT NASSA team secured 13 medals, including a silver medal for Anne Antunes in the individual general classification.
