UCI 2027 professional cycling calendar updates

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has detailed various components of its 2027 professional cycling calendar. The Cross-country Marathon World Cup will feature five stages across Italy, Spain, Andorra, and Germany, beginning in Riva del Garda on May 1 and concluding in Girona on September 19.

The broader 2027 schedule includes a dense lineup of Grand Tours, Monument Classics, and major championships. The season is slated to begin in late January with Australian races, including the Tour Down Under (January 19–24) and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. Early-season events also include races in Spain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE Tour in February.

Spring classics include Milano-Sanremo on March 20, the Tour of Flanders on April 4, Paris-Roubaix on April 11, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège on April 25. The Grand Tours are scheduled with the Giro d'Italia from May 8 to May 30 and the Tour de France from July 2 to July 25. Specific details for the 2027 Giro d'Italia have emerged, noting a climb to Zum Zeri during the second week of the race.

A notable shift in the schedule places the UCI World Championships in Haute-Savoie, France, from August 27 to September 2, which impacts the timing of the Vuelta a España, scheduled for September 4 to 24. The season concludes with the Giro di Lombardia on October 9.

Regional expansions continue with the inclusion of the ‘Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina’ in the 2027 world cycling calendar. This event aims to provide visibility for the nation and has already received applications from professional teams representing over 10 countries. Race director Toni Zorić noted that the event will include social responsibility initiatives, such as donating bicycles to local schools in host cities that demonstrate exceptional hospitality.
