UCI WorldTour rankings and professional cycling updates

Overview

Tadej Pogacar has secured the top position in the 2026 UCI individual world rankings, finishing the season with 9,331.8 points. Despite a narrowing lead in the final weeks due to an injury that prevented further racing, he maintained a significant margin over Remco Evenepoel, who placed second with 7,191.6 points. Isaac del Toro finished third with 5,606.5 points, narrowly ahead of Paul Seixas, who ended the season in fourth.

Other notable shifts in the individual standings include Tom Pidcock rising to fifth place following a second-place finish at the Tour of Guangxi, overtaking Jonas Vingegaard. Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert maintained their respective positions.

In the team rankings, UAE Team Emirates held the first position for much of the season, leading Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe by over 4,000 points. Earlier in the season, points from the World Championships in Montreal had yet to be incorporated into the standings, and Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe had identified Primoz Roglic and Florian Lipowitz as potential contenders for the rainbow jersey.

Regarding transfer news, Ecuadorian cyclist Richard Carapaz has signed with the NSM Cycling Team. The Olympic champion and former Giro d'Italia winner is set to join the squad for the 2027 season through 2029, where he will target stage races and Grand Tours.
