Overview
UK garden centres are initiating seasonal preparations for the Christmas period. Retailers such as Poplar Nurseries have been preparing showrooms since early September, with an official Christmas department opening scheduled for September 26 featuring traditional and Nordic themes.
British Garden Centres is launching its festive season at the Braintree and Grantham locations on October 3 and 4. These launches include ribbon-cutting ceremonies by Santa Claus at 9 am, live music, and promotions such as ‘golden tickets’ for free baubles. The seasonal collections feature the expanded Fern Christmas and Lighting range, alongside gifts, toys, and winter plants. Family Card members are eligible for a 15 per cent discount on the entire Christmas range during the launch weekend.
Other retailers have also commenced seasonal offerings. Bents Garden and Home in Glazebury, Warrington, has unveiled its Christmas 2026 experience, which includes a Winter Food Market and a Father Christmas Arrival Parade scheduled for November 4. Additionally, Bents will host ‘The Magic Lamp in the Hidden Garden’, a winter light trail featuring magical projections and theatrical scenes starting November 20.
