Overview

The West African Monetary Union (UMOA) financial sector experienced significant growth and increased stability throughout 2025. National market leaders were identified in Benin, where the Banque Internationale pour l’Industrie et le Commerce holds a significant share, and in Togo, where Orabank Togo maintains the largest market share.

By August 2026, the regional stock exchange (BRVM) saw market capitalization exceed 20,000 billion FCFA, supported by rising indices and a rebound in SONATEL shares.
