Unidentified aerial phenomena reports in Brazil

Reports of unidentified aerial phenomena have emerged from various regions in Brazil. In July 2026, a resident of Novo Itacolomi in Paraná recorded video footage of two bright orbs moving irregularly in the sky over the Vale do Ivaí region.

In August 2026, the Brazilian National Archive released documents detailing several UFO sightings from 2025. These records include reports from pilots and air traffic controllers, specifically noting five incidents at Londrina Airport in Paraná involving objects with intense lights and irregular movements. Additionally, a Latam Airlines commander reported seeing multiple bright lights moving in an ‘irregular, dance-like pattern’ near Guarulhos, São Paulo, which coincided with periods of turbulence.

Further analysis of the released FAB documents reveals at least 18 sightings recorded across Brazil in 2025. Beyond the incidents in Paraná and São Paulo, Ceará recorded four cases, and a commercial pilot in Sinop, Mato Grosso, reported seeing four objects in a triangular formation at 41,000 feet. A tower operator in Londrina also reported a round object with bright lights that appeared and disappeared frequently.

Declassified U.S. government documents have also highlighted historical interest in the region, including a 1958 sighting by a Varig pilot and a 1963 investigation into a metallic sphere reported to have crashed in Conde, Bahia. The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) clarified that it catalogs information provided to the National Archive rather than conducting independent studies on these specific cases. While the documents catalog various anomalous phenomena, they do not confirm extraterrestrial origins.
